Grade 3840 Polyethylene

In production of rotational molding products, especially manholes, grade 3840 polyethylene which is a polymer with extraordinary attributes, is used. In Iran, this material is produced at Tabriz and Arak refineries.

The specifications of the polyethylene produced at domestic refineries are shown in the table below. The MFR Factor or the so-called melt flow index is equal to 4 and the density of this kind of polyethylene is equal to 0.938.

This material is recyclable and its polymeric chain is very compressed, and this factor increases its density and as a result, its mechanical strength is increased and the compactness of the polymeric chains is the cause of its high resistance against chemicals and destructive tensions caused by its surrounding environment.

This material is primarily colorless and non-transparent and pigment could be added for use. Inner and outer surfaces of the manhole should be smooth, clean and flawless. The manhole can have any color, though the color should be the same all over its surface.

3840 polyethylene material produced at domestic refineries contain thermal and optical additives and color. According to Iran’s 14148 National Standard, P-R Company’s polyethylene manholes have the qualification for durability outdoors for the duration of at least one year and for this purpose its components contain anti-UV additives.
